The MFS is committed to building resilience within our community. We believe that the best way to achieve this is to teach people about home fire safety. The Community Safety & Resilience Department has a service where groups or clubs can request a guest speaker for a Home Fire Safety presentation.
Many different presentations have been developed to suit differing community needs, including:
The various presentations can be tailored to suit the needs of the particular group and range in length from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on individual requirements.
The presentations can be electronic using data projectors with powerpoint presentations and movies or more conversational with the presenter demonstrating various pieces of home fire safety equipment including smoke alarms and fire blankets.
There is no charge to the group from the MFS for this service however we usually request that the group consists of at least 15 people.
Bookings are handled on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability of a suitable Officer.
The MFS is unable to provide commercial Fire Warden Training.
If you feel that your group could benefit from a talk by an experienced MFS Officer on Home Fire Safety please contact us:
