Fire Safety Posters for Display

 

2011 Learn Don't Burn! School Poster Competition

The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) is committed to promoting fire safety practices in homes, in workplaces, in schools and in communities. Simple fire safety messages directed to children are an effective way of establishing the pattern for a lifetime of fire safety and for this reason we asked teachers from Primary and Junior Primary School to incorporate the MFS Fire Safety Competition into term 3 curriculum.

The Competition runs across each year level from Reception through to Year 7 with the best entry in each year level winning a prize and every student who participates receiving a fire safety sticker. In addition we award merit certificates across all year levels to outstanding poster entries.

Year level winning entries were displayed at the MFS stand in the Jubilee Pavilion at the Royal Adelaide Show, 2 - 10 September 2011 inclusive.

Thank you to all the teachers across the State who undertook this fire safety education with their children. And thank you to all the children who entered the completion this year with their fabulous, colourful posters.
